Robert C. “Bob” Pippel, 76, of Rockford, passed away peacefully, Monday evening, October 14, 2019 at the VA Hospital- Madison. Bob was born October 5,1943 in Rockford, the son of Henry and Christine (Goomas) Pippel. He graduated from high school and went on to proudly serve in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam era. Bob earned many achievements during Vietnam, including A Purple Heart, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. He had a love for his 1947 Studebaker hotrod truck, but most of all, Bob loved his family. Bob is loved and missed by his children; Gregory R. Pippel and Trina C. Pippel. His grandchildren; Christinea L. Pippel, Cody C. Pippel, Ian T. Graf, Jessica N. Jackson, Stacy M. Pippel. Great grandchildren; Joevanni L. Martinez, Julian S. Johnson, Ehleanna R. Johnson, Neluis J. Pippel, Haley N. Jackson, Brantley M. Jackson, Khloe M. Pippel, Chase C. Mclain. His brothers; Harper Pippel and Jerome Pippel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Pippel, grandson, Jared N. Pippel, and great-grandchild, Angel S. Johnson. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with entombment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
