I'm so sorry to hear about this. Dennis Reid was one of my best friends the year and a half I was at Northern Illinois University (1962 and 1963). My time at NIU would have been much less fun and interesting without him.

Dennis was fun and was always happy...definitely happy and super smart and fun to be with.

I had enjoyed classical music while growing up, but when I got to know Dennis, my interest went up several notches...and yes, Wagner was his favorite. In fact, even though it's been decades since the last time I saw him, whenever I hear certain pieces of Wagnerian music, I still think of Dennis and can "see" his eyes lighting up and his fingers waving around in tune with the exciting music...especially the Ride of the Valkyries.

Knowing the kind of guy he was, I'm sure he had a happy life, and I know his friends and family will miss him dearly. He was a one-of-a-kind guy. Rest in peace, Dennis.
